GOLF GANGS

Privacy Policy

Our approach

Golf Gangs is built for friendly golf competitions without ads, contact uploads, or public profiles. You do not need to create an account to build and score a game.

Information on your device

The complete game record - including player names, handicaps, teams, scores, side quests, and saved setups - is stored locally on the host's device. Golf Gangs does not upload those roster or scoring details to an account database or game backend.

Shared invites

When a host chooses to share an invite, the link includes the invite code and game name. Those details are sent to the hosted invite page when someone opens the link, and anyone with the link can see them. The link does not include the format, number of holes, player count, selected twist, player names, handicaps, teams, or scores. The invite page does not ask for an account or store RSVP responses; the participant chooses whether to send a prepared response through WhatsApp or Messages.

Completed result links

When a host shares a completed recap, the result link contains only an unlisted token and privacy-safe summary fields: format, holes, competition type, scores, player count, award count, and expiry. It does not contain player names, handicaps, teams, or money details. The app and result page stop displaying the recap after the displayed expiry, but its encoded contents remain in the link and someone who has it can decode them.

Website delivery

As with most hosted websites, the hosting provider may process technical request information such as an IP address, browser or device details, and the requested URL to deliver, secure, and diagnose the invite and policy pages. Golf Gangs does not use this information for advertising, cross-site tracking, or behavioral profiles.

When you use the shared Golfverse support form, you provide the app, your email address and message. Netlify stores the submission and sends a notification to us so we can respond. Avoid including payment-card details or sensitive information.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. RevenueCat helps Golf Gangs verify subscription status and may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase and entitlement information, and basic app or device information needed to provide Premium. RevenueCat's handling is covered by its privacy policy.

Analytics and crash diagnostics

Older versions use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app use and improve reliability. Firebase may receive an app-instance identifier, app and device information, product interactions, approximate region and diagnostics. See Google’s Firebase privacy information.

Versions using PostHog collect product analytics by default. PostHog receives a pseudonymous installation identifier, app and device information, and fixed feature-event names to help improve the app. Custom analytics events do not include player names, game names, rosters, scores, invite codes, result URLs, money details, or season details. Firebase Crashlytics continues to provide crash diagnostics separately.

PostHog processes analytics in its EU region. The project discards client IP addresses, although an address may be used before discard to derive approximate location. The project currently uses a 12-month event-retention window; older events are removed during the next monthly cleanup. See PostHog’s privacy policy.

Your choices

You control what is entered and shared. You can export or delete locally stored Golf Gangs data from Profile. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings.
