Profile and quiz data

Golf Quiz stores profile details you enter, your avatar choice, quiz results, badges, and app settings locally on your device. The app uses this information to show your profile and progress. The core solo game does not require a Golf Quiz account.

Local retention and deletion

Local profile details, quiz history, badges, and settings remain on the device until the app and its local data are removed. Golf Quiz does not currently include an in-app reset.

To remove this local data, open Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Golf Quiz → Delete App (or iPad Storage on iPad), then reinstall Golf Quiz to start again. Choose Delete App because Offload App keeps local data. A backup restore may restore earlier app data, so deleting the app does not guarantee removal of every backup copy. See Apple’s instructions for deleting an app.

Deleting the app does not cancel an App Store subscription. Restore Purchases restores Premium access, not local quiz history.

Product analytics

Older versions of Golf Quiz use Firebase Analytics, enabled by default. It can receive product-use events, app and device information, and a Firebase app-instance identifier. The app-instance identifier may associate use of Golf Quiz across sessions.

See PostHog’s Privacy Policy and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Versions using PostHog collect product analytics by default. PostHog receives a pseudonymous installation identifier, app and device information, and events such as starting or completing a quiz to help us understand and improve app use.

PostHog processes analytics in its EU region. Its project is configured to discard client IP addresses, though an address may be used before discard to derive approximate location. The project currently uses a 12-month event retention window, with older events removed during the next monthly cleanup.

Advertising and consent

The free version uses Google Mobile Ads. Google’s User Messaging Platform handles applicable advertising consent choices. Depending on consent, regional requirements, and effective service configuration, Google may process device or app identifiers, approximate location derived from an IP address, ad interactions, and diagnostics. Premium removes ads.

See Google’s Privacy Policy.

Purchases and Premium access

Apple processes App Store payments. Golf Quiz uses RevenueCat to check purchase and subscription status, unlock Premium entitlements, and support purchase restoration. RevenueCat receives purchase-entitlement information and an App User ID. That App User ID is an identifier even though it is not a Golf Quiz account name.

See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy and Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Game Center

Golf Quiz supports optional Golf-IQ rankings through Apple Game Center. Apple handles the Game Center identity and service, and Game Center authentication may begin when the app opens. When you use the world-ranking feature, the app can submit a Golf-IQ score and display the leaderboard.

See Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Sharing

When you choose to share from Golf Quiz, the app prepares an image and text with an App Store link and opens the iOS share sheet. You choose the destination. The receiving app or service handles the content under its own terms and privacy practices.

Service-provider retention

Deleting Golf Quiz from a device does not automatically remove information held separately by Apple Game Center, Google, PostHog, RevenueCat, or Netlify. Each provider applies its own retention rules.

Google Analytics data retention depends on the property settings; see Google’s data-retention documentation. RevenueCat says it retains customer data as described in its policy, including when needed for legal obligations, disputes, and agreements; see RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy. Netlify describes its general retention practices in Netlify’s Privacy Statement. Apple describes its privacy practices in Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Website hosting

Netlify hosts this static website and may process ordinary web-request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser or device information, and request timestamps. See Netlify’s Privacy Statement.

When you use the shared Golfverse support form, you provide the app, your email address and message. Netlify stores the submission and sends a notification to us so we can respond. Avoid including payment-card details or sensitive information.
